My interest in photography as an artistic medium arose while working on my Bachelor's thesis "Stilleven" (Stil life), which proposed, instead of our current war-mentality-driven fight against nature, we should strive for a symbiotic relationship, which proved, even in nature itself, to be always the more advantive choice.

I researched house plants as a simple first step towards this goal, theoratically through books and scientific papers and practically through photographing house plants, not only my own but also of other people.

While photographing those plants, I really tried to capture and accentuate their individual character, making it easier for others to notice in everyday life. Furthermore I wanted to emphasize my message through the interplay between the organic forms and patterns of the plant with the manmade surroundings they where placed in/against.

To this day, my photography- and designphilosophy is rooted in my Bachelor's thesis and I continue to refine this in every new work I make.
